Activating products is the first step in preparing your catalog for enrichment, benchmarking, and publishing in Product Agent. The process begins by uploading a CSV file, which brings your products into Product Agent and triggers automatic classification through an internal taxonomy mapping system.

Taxonomy Mapping

After uploading, Product Agent automatically tries to understand what kind of products you’ve added. For example:
  • A clothing brand might upload shirts, pants, and jackets.
  • A home goods store might upload coffee makers, chairs, and kitchen tools.
This classification step helps Product Agent:
  • Apply the right enrichment logic, such as sizing for apparel versus dimensions of appliances.
  • Determine which product attributes are required or recommended.
  • Personalize downstream steps based on your product types.

Manual mapping

In most cases, Product Agent will accurately classify your products without needing any manual input from you. However, if your data uses custom categories or vague labels, you may need to:
  • Confirm or refine the suggested classifications.
  • Assign more specific product types.
  • Reorganize products that were misclassified.
