Child categories cannot be added while creating a new category (using the POST /categories endpoint). This endpoint is used to add a child category to a parent category. In addition, when there are changes in product offerings, this endpoint is used to change the item and category attributes as well as rename the category. This endpoint completely replaces the existing details.
