Geographic regions are used to group zones, which show where orders should be shipped from and in what order of priority. Zones can be linked to both geographic regions and fulfillment networks. By associating regions with zones, the system can accurately determine a customer’s shipping destination during the fulfillment process.

Prerequisites

  • Ensure you have created at least one zone. For more information on creating zones, see the Create a Zone section.

  • Ensure that you have the Orders & Inventory Editor or Administrator privileges to fabric Orders. For more information, see the Role-Based Access Control section.

Geography order matching criteria

This section defines which orders are matched to this geographic region based on the shipping destination.

  1. In the Geography Type field, select how you want to match orders.

For example, if you were creating a geographic region for a specific European country, country code can be used.

  2. In the Allowed Values field, enter attribute values.

Orders will be matched to this geographic region if the selected ship-to attribute contains any of the values you specify. For example, if you enter the country code IT for Italy, any order with IT as the ship-to code will automatically be associated with this region. While this is a simple example, you can also define regions using more specific criteria such as city or postal code.

Entering a value adds it to the Geography Order Matching Criteria table.

Fulfillment zone

This section defines a fulfillment zone that serves this geographic region.

  1. Use the Fulfillment Zone field to select one of your zones.

  2. Click Save in the top-right of the page.

You are redirected to the Geographic Regions page with your new region name displayed in the table.
