When onboarding, you decide how you want to manage Retailer SKU generation based on the following options:

fabric-Generated SKUs: If you want fabric to automatically generate unique SKUs for your products, this can be configured during onboarding or at any time afterward. This feature also allows for automatic SKU assignment as soon as items are approved by one of your team members. You can also input prefixes and/or seed values to define a starting point for SKU generation, which is useful for avoiding duplicates if you already generate some SKUs externally.

External SKUs: If you prefer to generate retailer SKUs outside of fabric or do not require them, you can ignore the fabric SKU assignment settings.

These settings only apply to new products. Existing products and items will not be modified.
